Austism Spectrum Disorder Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy can help your child to participate in everyday routines and activities. Many children who fall within the spectrum, find ordinary life difficult. We will assess what the issues are and arrange an individualised programme to address the problem. We work closely with other professionals and with the family to achieve a positive outcome.

Because so many of the difficulties experienced by families who have a child with ASD occur at home, we have a home visiting service to maximise the child’s ability to transfer skills to the appropriate environment. They are learning in the environment they need to perform their new skills.

We focus on skills such as self care, play, interaction and organisational and self regulatory skills. Assessments and treatments can be claimed under NDIS, FaCSIA including Helping Children with Autism and Better Start. Assessments and treatments can also be claimed on private health insurance.
